Escalating the Threat of the Criminal Ḥūthīs upon the Lands of the Muslims | Shaykh ʿAbdus-Salām as-Suḥaimī

What’s next after the Ḥūthīs targeted Abha[1]?

The Ḥūthīs are a sect upon Zaidiyyah[2] Jārūdiyyah[3], their ideology has evolved for the worse, and became Rāfidhah[4] Twelver Shīʿah[5] upon the ideology and belief of the tyrants of Iran[6] (the Mullahs), enemies of the companions (of the Prophet ﷺ) and the best of the Muslims. Then they turned into tools in the hands of Tehran and a poisoned dagger by the side of the Arabian Peninsula. Due to this, even the Qiblah of the Muslims, Makkah Mukarramah, was not spared of their evil. And the rest of the cities of our land, Saudi (Arabia), May Allāh protect it.

So Jihad against these criminals, agents of Tehran, and obstructing their evil upon our lands and the people of Islam with every possible effort, is from the most imperative of the duties and foremost of the obligations. May Allāh respond to their plots and their aides, (restraining them) by their necks. May Allāh protect our lands from their evils[7].”

  1. The capital of ʿAsīr region in Saudi Arabia. This was posted following a drone attack by the Ḥūthīs at Abhā International Airport
  2. The Zaidiyyah are considered to be the closest sects to moderation and farthest from extremism of the Twelver Shīʿah and other than them from the Shīʿite sects. They ascribe themselves to Zaid bin ʿAlī “Zain al-ʿĀbidīn” bin al-Ḥussain bin ʿAlī -May Allah be pleased with them both- and he used to affirm the validity of the leadership of Abū Bakr, ʿUmar and ʿUthman -May Allāh be pleased with them all-. He was a pious man, virtuous, brave and dignified, knowledgeable of the Book of Allāh and Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ. However, he was mistaken in his rebellion against (the rule of the Umayyad Caliphate) Hisham bin ʿAbdul Malik.
  3. The Jārūdiyyah are ascribed to Abu al-Jārūd Ziyād bin al-Mundhir al-Kūfī al-Hamdhānī, known also as “ath-Thaqfī”, “al-Hindī”, “Ziyād bin Munqidh al-ʿAbdī” and “Ziyād bin Abū Ziyād”. Ibn an-Nadīm described him as “being from the scholars of Zaidiyyah, ‘Abu al-Jārūd’ and has the kunyah ‘Abu an-Najm’ Ziyād bin al-Mundhir al-ʿAbdī”. It was said that Jaʿfar bin Muḥammad bin ʿAlī was asked regarding him and he said, “May Allāh curse him, for indeed he is blinded in his heart and sight”.     The Jārūdiyyah claim that the Prophet ﷺ stipulated ʿAlī by description and indication and not by naming and specification, that he is the leader to follow after him. Hence, (as per their claim,) the people (Companions) were found lacking due to not recognizing the traits and not seeking the possessor of the descriptions, which resulted in selection of Abū Bakr out of their own choice, thereby disbelieving by it.   4. The Rāfidhah meaning “the Rejecters”, named so due to their rejection of Zaid bin ʿAlī giving allegiance to the two rightly guided Caliphs, Abū Bakr and ʿUmar. The Rāfidah are an extreme Shīʿah group who hold the twelver doctrine and are Kuffār (disbelievers) who accuse the mother of the believers, ʿĀʾishah radiyAllāhu ʿanhā, abuse the honour of the Prophet ﷺ, make takfīr of many of the Ṣaḥābah including Abū Bakr and ʿUmar – may Allāh be pleased with them all -, and their Kufr (disbelief) is worse than that of the Jews and Christians as per what has been stated by some of the scholars.
  5. Most extreme branch of the Shīʿah, “Twelvers” or “Ithna ‘Ashariyyah” are called so due to their belief in the imamate of twelve men from the lineage of the Prophet’s family (Ahl al-Bayt), beginning with ʿAlī -may Allāh be pleased with him- and the last of whom was Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-‘Askari, referred to as “the awaited one”, claimed to have gone into hiding in the tunnel of Samarra’ in the middle of the third century AH and remains to be alive as per their belief.
  6. The Ḥūthīs embraced the Rāfidī doctrine at the hands of their leader, Ḥussain Badruddīn al-Ḥūthī, who returned to Yemen after being indoctrinated by their clerics during his stay in Iran. After his death, his father, Badruddīn al-Ḥūthī, briefly took over the leadership of the rebel group, so-called “Ansarullah”, rightly referred to as Ansarullaat by the scholars. Currently they are led by his son, the criminal, ‘Abdul Malik al-Ḥūthī -may Allah give them what they deserve-.
  7. Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash’ari -may Allah be pleased with him-, when the Prophet (ﷺ) feared a (group of) people, he would say,

    “‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ ‏”

“O Allāh, we make Thee our shield against them, and take refuge in Thee from their evils.”
