Denouncing the One who Divides the Night Prayer | Shaykh Muḥammad Bājammāl

﷽

[The Eighteenth opposition that occurs in the last ten nights]

Denouncing the one who divides the night prayer into four at the beginning of the night and four towards the end.

There is no evidence for this denial, rather the evidence refutes it, as in one of the narrations of Muslim, in the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās -may Allāh be pleased with him- in the narration of his spending the night with his aunt, Maymūnah -may Allāh be pleased with her-, where he said,

“He then stood up and prayed two rakʿahs, and prolonged the standing, bowing, and prostration in them. Then he went back and slept until he snored. Then he did that three times, six rakʿahs, each time using a miswāk (to clean his teeth), performing ablution, and reciting these verses. Then he prayed witr with three (rakʿahs).”

Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 763

There came a similar narration in Al-Bukhārī numbered (117 and 697)
